I made this cake with the very last teaspoon of vanilla. Where do all the bakers go when they can’t find pure vanilla… I guess we turn to imitation vanilla. Or, impostor vanilla, fake vanilla, pseudo, counterfeit vanilla, fraud vanilla. Who amongst us stocked up on all the world’s vanilla. I understand a shortage on flour, or rice or beans…. but really…vanilla???
Pure vanilla and its ridiculous high price compared to its counterpart impure vanilla both have left the building or grocery store. At this point, I’m thinking of cheating. Actually, entertaining the thought of some other extract, like maple or worse…orange.
Na, I can’t do it. Please let our pure vanilla free. They’re being held hostage someplace for ransom. Just one bottle, …one little bottle of the real stuff… a tsp even. Think of the starving cookies!!!
